    Overview

    Founded in March 2008, KW Carpentry and Building is a young, dynamic company built on the solid foundation of over fifty years combined experience and expertise in the construction industry. We offer a full complement of carpentry, building and property maintenance services on projects of all sizes.

    Projects

    We have worked on a number of projects in the island recently - please have a look at the pages in our project section on the right. We undertake projects of all sizes, from the humblest garden gate to the most complex, bespoke residence. We offer a complete service, from planning to completion, and work closely with other contractors where required to provide exactly what the client wants - meaning that the client only has to deal with one person from start to finish.

    Recent projects have included:

    • Construction of a new apartment with ground-floor garage.
    • Loft conversion to form bedroom, dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
    • Renovation of three-bedroom house.
    • Fitting-out of St Peter’s Youth Centre Community Bus.
    • Room renovations, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and offices.
    • Doors and windows.
    • Gates and outdoor furniture.

    Our Approach

    We approach every project with a commitment to quality work and good communication with the client. We are always ready to advise the client if they are unsure about any aspect of the project at hand, or would like some suggestions or guidance on what needs to be done. When working, we keep the client regularly updated as to our progress, and we treat the client’s home as if it were our own - laying down dustsheets, working tidily and leaving the site spotless when the project is finished.

    We have a number of industry contacts from whom to source the best possible products for each individual project. Currently in the process of attaining prestigious Institute of Carpenters membership, we remain at the cutting edge of the carpentry and construction trade, and are often invited to trade shows to view, trial and develop the latest products to market. We always aim for the best finish on each project carried out.

    We are also always happy to offer free advice and to share our expertise with the client, no matter how big or small the project concerned.

    Meet the Team

    Chris Kent co-founded KW Carpentry and Building after having worked as site foreman for a major building contractor in Jersey. With fifteen years of experience in carpentry and construction, Chris brings a cool head and a wide range of expertise to projects of all sizes. Chris specialises in planning work, setting out the house and the work that needs to be done within it, and is highly skilled at the second fix stage of construction.

    Peter West founded KW along with Chris after having worked for a major building contractor in the island. Previous to this, Peter ran his own succesful plastering and property maintenance business. With twenty three years of experience under his belt, Peter brings a wealth of expertise in all aspects of the construction trade.
